Something special happened.
IQRAA Foundation joined forces with the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara, the Commandant of NSCDC, traditional rulers, civil society groups, university students, and everyday community members.
We weren’t just there to talk. We were there to agree.
Over two days, our team – led by our Admin & Finance Manager Musa Sulaiman – had the privilege of heading Group One to draft the Community Resilience and Partnership Statement for Zamfara State. And on the final day, we signed that document side by side with the highest security officers in the state.
That statement isn’t just paper. It’s a promise:
To stop seeing communities as helpless
To start using what already works – local safety nets, early warning systems, trusted voices
To close the gaps that leave people vulnerable
We are proud that IQRAA Foundation helped lead in the process. But more than that, we are hopeful. Because real change happens when police, civil defense, community heads, and organisations like ours work as partners – not rivals.
Thank you to CLEEN Foundation and Open Society Foundations for creating this space. And to every community member who spoke their truth – we see you, we hear you, and we will keep walking with you.
On to a safer, stronger Zamfara.
