The step-down training on Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms (ADR-M) for the PathToPeace Project was successfully conducted by the trained project team members, Yesterday 27th February 2025. The (100) participants, comprising youth aged 18–35 years, were strategically selected from Damba, Bulunku Sami Naka, and Jaurin Rogo. The training was done successfully in conjunction with Ideas and Data Global Academy

The training focused on equipping participants with essential skills in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Some of the core topics covered included:

Negotiation: Techniques for reaching mutually beneficial agreements.

Mediation: Facilitating dialogue between conflicting parties.

Conciliation: Building trust to resolve disputes amicably.

Neutrality: Maintaining impartiality in conflict resolution processes.

Voluntariness: Encouraging voluntary participation in dispute resolution.

Arbitration: Understanding formal dispute resolution mechanisms.

Additional Highlights

Participants were encouraged to adopt a proactive role as “brothers’ keepers” by:

Remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities or unfamiliar individuals to appropriate authorities.

Actively countering the spread of fake news to foster trust and unity within their communities.

The training emphasized the importance of youth involvement in peacebuilding, equipping them with tools to address local conflicts effectively and contribute to sustainable peace
